5 Ways To Beat The Winter Blues

It's the dead middle of winter and I don't know about you, but I definitely see a bit of 'winter blues' being spread around. It's sometimes hard not to get in a funk when the weather is cold, snowy and gloomy. Summer seems years and years away and sometimes we just get in a funk. Today I'm sharing with you 5 of my tips to help you beat those winter blues and finish out winter in a great mood!

1. Don't Skip Your Workouts. It is so easy to say you don't want to go to spin class or the gym because of the snow or because it's just too damn cold. Well, go! Afterwards you'll feel great and it'll be worth the 5 seconds in the cold.

2. Indulge In A New Book. I feel that in today's society we'd rather binge watch a show instead of fly through a book. This needs to change. Download a new book you've been wanting to read and get cozied up by the fire or with a cup of tea and just read.

3. Schedule A Warm Trip. This is the perfect time to plan out spring break or a trip in May. Book those tickets and start up an inspiration board on Pinterest. If you can't afford a trip this year, make a summer bucket list of what you wish to achieve this summer!

4. Hydrate Your Skincare Routine. This time of year our skin can get really dry which is the perfect reason to head to the mall and pick up some new moisturizing masks and moisturizers!

5. Enjoy Winter. I know this one can be a bit of a stretch, but try to enjoy the gorgeous white covered streets and trees. Do a few winter activities like ice skating or skiing before the season is over!

Lets Have Coffee Together

One of my favorite things to do, no matter what city I'm visiting, is to head to a local coffee shop to just sit and enjoy the people watching. City to city, people always love their coffee. Today I'm sitting in Columbus working on blog posts and homework while watching it snow. Is anyone else already over winter? I'm currently counting the days down until my Cali adventure this May!

I hope you're having a great start to the week!

Networking With Uber

You're getting ready to hit a night out on the town with your girlfriends and your Uber is going to be here to pick you up in 5. You've been at work or in classes all day and it's finally time to go out and have some fun. You get a text your Uber has arrived and out the door you go ready for your night. Have you ever thought about being an Uber driver-partner?

Sometimes we don't think much about how our Uber driver-partners have lives outside of Uber and today I wanted to share a story with you about Marissa, a hardworking woman from Boston, who drives whenever she can to help people like you get to your destinations safely! Uber is such a great tool to have in over 300 cities. I know I'm especially glad we have Uber here in Columbus, especially on cold winter nights!

Uber is great for anyone of any ages. The best part is that you can drive whenever and wherever you want. You can work a 9-5 job during the week and drive on the weekends. You can work on the weekends and drive during the week. You can go to college full time and still drive with Uber. Marissa is a standup comedian who has big dreams. She loves being an Uber driver-partner because it is so flexible with her schedule. She is able to drive whenever she can and she can also travel to different cities to work on her stand up jig all with the help of Uber.

I asked Marissa if she had any great stories about Uber and why she loved driving so much and she said she enjoyed it for the flexability as well as the networking. Sometimes when she is working she will talk with her riders about what they do and she has met some people who might be able to help her out with stand up! I think that Uber is a great networking opportunity, you never know who you're going to meet!

Let me know in the comments your experience with Uber! Also don't forget to think about signing up for Uber if you want to be your own boss and work it in with your busy schedule! Marissa definitely recommends it ;)

Movies I've Seen Recently

I've never been a huge movie goer type of gal. I'd rather pick a series on Netflix instead of a movie on Netflix. However here recently I've watched a handful on Netflix as well as a few in the theater too! Today I'm sharing with you a few movies I've really enjoyed and would recommend for you to check out on date night or girls night this weekend!

Sisters / The main reason you need to go see this movie asap the two actresses: Tina Fey & Amy Poehler. Sisters was the perfect girls night type of movie where you laughed the whole time. A must see!

Daddy's Home / Another great combination of actors: Will Ferrel & Mark Wahlberg. This movie shows the true life competition between a step dad and a biological dad. The actors make it a great comedy to go see!

Trainwreck / Amy Poehler did it again in Trainwreck. Another hilarious movie that almost anyone will enjoy. We rented this one on Amazon and so glad we did!

The Best Of Me / I'm a huge Nicholas Sparks fan. I read The Best Of Me right when it came out and was excited about the movie but when it came out I never ended up seeing it. I recently watched it on Netflix and it did not disappoint. A great love story that touches on the past.

5 Things I Learned In 2015

2015 is long gone and it is now time to reflect on what the year has taught us. Today I'm sharing with you five things I learned in 2015.

- Travel is good for the soul. I went on more trips in 2015 then I had in a long time. I found myself more content and happy when I was spending my money on adventures verses materialistic things.

- Your body will thank you when you treat it right. I worked out really hard and ate really healthy most of 2015. I found I really did have more energy, endurance and I just looked a lot better. It really has given me motivation to kick my booty back in gear for 2016.

- Life is never as you plan. & that's okay. God has a much bigger plan then anything any of us writes down in our Erin Condren planners.

- Eat the cake & enjoy it too. Life is short, eat the cake and drink the champs!

- Smile because you honestly don't know who needs a little bit of happiness in their day.

Let me know in the comments 1 thing you learned in 2015!

Travel With Me: Atlanta GA

Today I'm sharing with you some life snapshots and talking about what I did last week when I traveled to Atlanta, Georgia! My boyfriend Tyler has some family in Braselton so we decided to head down with his family to celebrate Christmas with everyone! It was a lovely time and we got to experience a lot of GA in a short amount of time! Below are places we hit while on our trip and I would recommend y'all to visit as well!

The weather was beautiful during the time we were there so we hopped on a hopped on a boat and rode around Lake Lanier. We also visited Tallulah Gorge and Indian Steps to get in some hiking! To get our adrenaline running, we went to K1 Speed to ride go carts around! In Atlanta we also locked ourselves in a room for an hour with a mission to try to escape at Mission Escape. I would also recommend hitting up The Mall Of Georgia and Lenox Square!

Where should I travel to next?!

2016

Wow. What a year 2015 was. I got to hike up a mountain, get into fitness, explore my southern side, spend time on a beach, move to a different school, move out, and really start to find myself. I ended up getting really busy towards the end of the year and neglecting what I love: blogging and YouTube. I've been active on all other social media, but I want to get back into the swing of things here as well.
Today I'm sharing with you a few of my New Years Goals as well as a few words to live by in 2016.

- Travel to a few places I've never visited before [& document them all here].
- Find an internship/job that I really enjoy and gives me great experience.
- Continue to live my active lifestyle.
- Find my inner 'zen' by practicing yoga & reading more books.

-"When was the last time you did something for the first time?"
-"If there is no way, create one"
-"We take photos as a return ticket to a moment otherwise gone"

Let me know in the comments what your goals are for this year!
