Dark Places By Gillian Flynn

I absolutely love to read. As a child, I would read and read and read. Within the last five years I sort of quit and lost interest. However, I recently decided to buy a Kindle and I'm obsessed. I find myself reading a lot more and I how tech savvy my Kindle is! I've decided to start doing book reviews on my blog and today I'm going to be reviewing Gillian Flynn's Dark Places.

Dark Places is a novel that starts with a murder and almost ends in one too. Libby Day was only seven years old when her family was murdered in her own home. She managed to survive and her older brother, Ben, was framed for murdering their mother and two other sisters. Did he do it? Twenty five years later, when Libby is desperate for money, The Kill Club wants to question her for answers about that night. Their whole goal is to free Ben, but Libby wants answers for herself before she decides whose guilty and who isn't. Libby travels from state to state reconnecting with people from that night and from Ben's life. When she gets to her final destination, she finds herself running from yet another murder.

I really enjoyed this book and I hope you give it a go! Let me know in the comments what you're reading :)

Define Success

What's your biggest fear? I think mine is being unsuccessful. Unsuccessful in a class. Unsuccessful in a relationship. Unsuccessful in life. To me being unsuccessful is not doing something to your fullest personal best. Success means so many different things to so many different people. I recently had to give a speech in one of my Comm classes and it had to be about ourselves. We had to choose an object that represented ourselves. I, to no surprise, thought of my digital camera that I use to take my blog pictures and record my YouTube videos. However, it's very rare of me to tell people I lead a different life on the internet. I'm not one to introduce myself as Nicole, The Blogger.

When I was talking to Tyler about how I was too shy to tell 20 odd people about my blog he flat out said "You shouldn't be embarrassed. I highly doubt anyone in that room is a blogger too".

Well turns out, he was right. It went great. As I'm sitting here writing this, I realize I don't share my blog life in real life because I don't think I'm successful. Sure, I have around 10,000 people who follow me on my online life, sure I have companies who reach out to me and want me to review their products regularly. However for some reason, I don't feel successful.

Will I ever feel successful with blogging? With my home decor? With my collection of clothes? Is this society telling me I need more.. more shoes, more readers, more more more?

Food for thought I suppose.
Happy Wednesday, by the way ;)

Valentines Day Dresses Under $100

Being in college means I'm always on a tight budget. I don't have $200+ to spend on a dress that I'll only wear a few times. When I buy high end pieces, that means I need to be able to picture myself wearing that item at least once a week! Today I'm sharing with you a handful of beautiful dresses that would be perfect for Valentines Day and the best part is that they are all under $100!! If you have a hot dinner date or are going to a dance club with your girlfriends, it's always fun to dress up. I feel like a thousand dollars when I do my hair and makeup and have a new dress to put on!

INEXPENSIVE Valentines Day Date Ideas

Tyler and I have been together for almost five years (WHAT!) and I feel like we're always looking for something to do on date night. Don't get me wrong, Netflix and a home cooked dinner is a go to, however sometimes it's fun to try something new. I feel like Valentines Day is a great night to spend it with your lover, girlfriends, or even your mom! Today I'm sharing with you a handful of fun dates to do with anyone!

-At Home Spa Night! I think this date is perfect for basically anyone. It's inexpensive because you most likely have all of the materials already! Men and women can both enjoy a spa night so you could have an at home spa night with your boyfriend or your girlfriends! Gab your favorite face mask, hand lotions, manicure tools, oils, and all the wine!!!

-Go Bowling! This date is fun because you can get out of the house, however it's not super expensive!  Two can easily bowl and rent shoes for around $20!

-Matinee Movie + Dessert! Matinee movies are cheaper then late night movies. Forego the popcorn and pricy movie candy, and go out for dessert after! Go somewhere where you can get bottomless coffee and a great piece of pie!

-BookStore + Coffe Afternoon! Go to your local bookstore, like Barns n Noble, and spend some time looking at all of the new books, old books, and talk about your favorite books. Sit in the nice comfy chairs, chat, and look at all of the magazines. After, grab some coffee!

-DIY Massages! Couples massages can be super expensive, however if you try them at home with your boyfriend/husband you can save yourself a lot of money! All you need is some essential oils, hot stones, wine, and supplies to make a cheese plate!
