How To Have A Relaxing & Healthy Evening

I don't know about you, but I've been feeling very overwhelmed recently. From going to school 18 hours, working 20 hours, teaching two days a week, and trying to run an online blog; I'm tired & stressed. Today I thought I would share with you a few of my favorite tips to help you have a relaxing (and healthy) evening.

1. Make A Healthy Dinner
Sure ordering out might be the easy thing to do, but you will feel so much better when you cook and have a healthy meal at home. Those who make their own food, end up loosing more weight in the end.

2. Relax With Herbal Tea
Nothing is better on a cool night then a nice hot cup of tea. I personally love a good green tea with some organic honey!

3. Pick Out Tomorrows Outfit
You will be able to sleep SO much better if you already know what you're going to wear tomorrow. Plan everything out and place it on the floor so you'll see it right when you wake up! Already a step in the right direction!

4. Stretch
A good stretch, or a few yoga moves, can really help your muscles relax. This is so calming for me.

5. Have A Glass Of Wine
There's nothing wrong with a good red glass of wine to unwind with after a long day. Just be careful not to have too much!

6. Pack Your Lunch
This goes hand in hand with picking out tomorrows outfit. You'll already feel prepared when you wake up if everything is already packed in the fridge!

7. Pamper Yourself
I love a good mani/pedi and face mask kind of night. Do that PLUS a few extra steps. A coconut oil hair mask, waxing your eyebrows, shaving your legs.. take that time to pamper yourself because you deserve it!

8. Hydrate
Didn't get past 8 glasses today? That's okay, just drink up a few before bed and your skin will thank you in the AM!

9. Have A Healthy Late Night Snack
Sometimes you'll be starvingggg right before bed. Always grab something low in calorie and high in flavor!

10. Make Sleep A Priority
Skipping out on sleep can cause high blood pressure, a low immune system, and weight gain.. not to mention yawning all of the next day. Make sure you get to bed earily enough to get 7-8 hours!

Have a great weekend and stay happy & healthy!

  4. Great post, Nicole! Funnily enough, I've been planning out a "How to Relax as a College Student" post on my blog, and I loved reading your version of it! I find that cooking is a great relaxant; I also looooove drinking a hot cup of tea and organizing my closet.

The stress of life literally overwhelmed me in September with school starting and work it really made me sad that blogging had to become less of a priority with summer over. But your post is seriously a life saver because it gives me hope that I can make it all work ! it all pays off in the end anyway.
